Troops kill 25 terrorists, destroy hideouts in Zamfara

Troops from Sector 2 of the Joint Task Force North West, under Operation Fansan Yamma, neutralized 25 terrorists and dismantled their hideouts during a gunfight early Sunday in the Fakai area of Shinkafi Local Government Area, Zamfara State.

The operation’s spokesman, Lt. Col. Abdullahi Abubakar, stated that the troops, supported by the Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma, cleared terrorist camps in the Fakai axis.

Key camps cleared included those of Bello Turji and Mallam Ila, where over 25 terrorists were killed, and more than 18 others sustained gunshot injuries.

The operation also dealt a significant blow to the terrorist network.

Additionally, seven kidnapped victims escaped from the terrorists’ camps during the raid.

Lt. Col. Abubakar emphasized that Operation Fansan Yamma will persist in pursuing and eliminating all terrorist elements in its operational area.

He urged terrorist leaders and their associates to surrender and renounce violence unconditionally, reaffirming the troops’ commitment to restoring peace and security in the affected communities.
