Banditry: Osun Won’t Tolerate Criminality — Amotekun

The Osun State Amotekun Corps Commander, Adekunle Omoyele, has pledged to prevent criminal activities in the state amid reports of bandits and Boko Haram members moving southwards due to military pressure.

Omoyele stated that operatives have been deployed to high-risk areas, particularly forests, to flush out criminal elements. He emphasized the corps’ reliance on credible intelligence to tackle criminal activities effectively.

In a statement by the corps’ spokesperson, Yusuf Idowu, Omoyele reassured residents of the corps’ commitment to safeguarding their lives and properties. He declared Osun will not serve as a haven for bandits, kidnappers, or groups intending to disrupt the peace.

“Our operatives are fully deployed and vigilant, ready to combat any threats with force. We are closely monitoring suspicious movements, and any attempt by criminals to establish a base here will face strong resistance,” he said.

Omoyele also highlighted that Amotekun is intensifying operations against terrorism, kidnapping, and banditry, vowing to remove every threat to peace in Osun.

He urged residents to stay vigilant, report suspicious activities, and support security efforts. “The safety of everyone in Osun is paramount, and we will not allow any criminal group to gain a foothold in the state,” he assured.
