Motta confirms Kolo Muani is ready to play for Juve against Napoli
Juventus’ new signing Randal Kolo Muani is set to debut in Saturday’s Serie A clash against Napoli, manager Thiago Motta announced on Friday, as the team aims to build momentum with a winning streak.
The French forward, who joined Juve on loan from Paris Saint-Germain until the end of the season, was signed on Thursday. Earlier in the January transfer window, the club also welcomed right-back Alberto Costa.
“Randal is available, and we’ll decide whether he starts or not. Bringing in a player of his caliber is crucial because we believe he can help the team win games,” Motta told reporters.
The reinforcements come at a critical time for Juve, who are without defenders Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal due to ACL injuries, while striker Arkadiusz Milik remains sidelined with a long-term issue.
“The integration of the new players is going very well. Everyone will be available tomorrow except for Bremer, Cabal, and Milik,” Motta confirmed.
Striker Dušan Vlahović is expected to remain on the bench for the third consecutive game as he deals with fitness concerns. The Serbian international has also been linked with potential moves to Chelsea or Arsenal during the transfer window.
“Randal and Nico (Gonzalez) can play on the wings. Dušan has played a lot but is dealing with a physical problem. We’ll decide tomorrow who starts and who comes off the bench,” Motta added.
Juventus remains the only unbeaten team in Serie A, but 13 draws in 21 games have left them fifth in the standings, 13 points behind league leaders Napoli.
Motta acknowledged the gap, saying, “Antonio Conte’s side is deservedly in first place, and we are deservedly behind. However, we’re determined to secure another victory on Saturday after last weekend’s win against AC Milan.”
Reflecting on the season, Motta admitted mixed feelings. “I’m satisfied with many things and less so with others, such as the number of draws. But our goal is always to work hard during the week to secure the win,” he said.
“… So many necessary changes to the squad have been made for different reasons. Tomorrow, we’re set for a great match: Napoli vs. Juventus.”
