FG set to Distribute ₦75,000 to 70 Million Nigerians

The Federal Government has unveiled a plan to distribute ₦75,000 to about 70 million of Nigeria’s poorest citizens by 2025.

This announcement was made by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, during an interview on Arise Television’s The Morning Show.

Yilwatda outlined that the program is set to be implemented nationwide, reaching all 36 states by the close of January 2025.

The initiative seeks to register approximately 18.1 million households using the National Identity Number (NIN) system as a basis for distribution.

“Our aim is to launch the program nationwide by January’s end, ensuring we gather NIN details from around 18.1 million households to commence payments,” the minister explained.

He also noted, “The President has directed that we focus on 15 million households, averaging 4 to 5 members per household. This totals about 70 million individuals, each set to receive ₦75,000 within this year.”
