Dancer and author Kafayat Shafau, popularly known as Kaffy, has encouraged men interested in dating her to approach her without fear or intimidation. Speaking on her perspective on relationships, Kaffy, who separated from her ex-husband Joseph Ameh in January 2022, stated, “I don’t think any man meant for me will be scared to approach me. There are amazing and confident men out there, and the right one for me will come. A man who knows what he wants goes for it.”
Kaffy dismissed the notion that men are intimidated by successful women, emphasizing the strength and independence of women. She said, “As women, God has blessed us to thrive with or without men. While companionship is desirable, it’s not a do-or-die affair. I now understand my value as a woman more than ever. Any man who has me is blessed.”
Addressing her separation, Kaffy noted that she holds no bitterness toward her ex-husband. “It’s not about who is good or bad; it’s about two people no longer agreeing. I’ve grown out of it. If something is not working, it’s better to let it go, especially for the sake of the children involved. My peace of mind is essential to raising better children,” she explained.
Kaffy also emphasized the importance of parental involvement, regardless of marital status. “What matters most is for parents to be present in their children’s lives. Unfortunately, society often focuses more on preserving unions than on the quality of relationships within them,” she concluded.
