Man arrested for killing mother with stick in Cross River

Mathias Amunde has been apprehended by the Cross River State Police Command for allegedly killing his mother with a stick in Obudu Local Government Area. According to an interrogation video shared on Instagram by @isaacfayoseoriginal, Amunde and an accomplice attacked his mother with a stick, then dragged her body outside and disposed of it in a well.

During the interrogation, Amunde admitted to the crime, explaining that after killing his mother, he and his accomplice, Walcot, carried her to the well and disposed of her remains. He also mentioned that Walcot fled the scene shortly after the incident.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Irene Ugbo, confirmed the arrest, stating that Amunde would be transferred to the police headquarters for further investigation the following day.
